Dr. Almudena “Almi” Abeyta to Join Somerville Public Schools as new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment


Current Assistant Superintendent Dr. Vincent McKay retiring after 10 years in district

 

Somerville, MA – Dr. Almudena “Almi” Abeyta was unanimously approved by the Somerville School Committee on Monday evening as Somerville Public Schools’ next Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment effective July 1, 2017. Dr. Abeyta, currently the Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning in the Santa Fe Public Schools in New Mexico, will take over the position from Dr. Vincent McKay, who is retiring at the end of June 2017 after completing his 10th year as Somerville Public Schools’ Assistant Superintendent.     THE HOUSE AND SENATE. Beacon Hill Roll Call records local representatives’ votes on roll calls from the week of April 24-28. There were no roll calls in the Senate.
   Most of the House roll calls are on proposed amendments to the $40.8 billion fiscal 2018 state budget that the House debated for only two days last week. PorchFest takes this idea and multiplies it to create a citywide event where Somervillians share their love of playing and listening to music by holding porch concerts across the city.
