On Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 7:15 P.M., I was dispatched to Saks Fifth Avenue for a male shoplifter in the store.
I responded to Saks and spoke with Loss Prevention Agent XXXXX who stated he observed a man who was later identified as Volodymyr Gurin select four pairs of sunglasses, remove the security tags and conceal them in his coat pocket. He then selected a pair of shoes, went to the register and paid for the pair of shoes.
Mr. Gurin then concealed two belts and two pairs of underwear in his coat. He selected three coats and a white shirt and entered the fitting room. When Mr. Gurin came out of the fitting room, one coat was missing.
Mr. Gurin proceeded to the shoe section and concealed two pairs of shoes in his shopping bag. He then selected another pair of shoes, went to the register and paid for one pair.
Mr. Gurin selected a white shirt and concealed it in his bag before exiting the store. Loss prevention agents YYYYY and XXXXX stopped Mr. Gurin outside the store and escorted him back to their office.
The store manager cancelled the two purchases Mr. Gurin made at the store and returned the money to him. Mr. Gurin was trespassed from Saks in Somerville and Wrentham.
I placed Mr. Gurin under arrest for Larceny over $250 and removal of a theft detection device. He was transported to the Somerville Police Headquarters via unit 200, operated by Officer Lorenti and booked by Lieutenant Lavey.
Respectfully submitted,
Officer Samir Messaoudi #312
