Somerville Remembering Kostas Kargatzis

   

Kostas was a resident of Somerville as well as the founder of the former Ocean Reef Restaurant that was located on Elm Street in Somerville.

 

He was married to Androniki and was father of Stavroula Moreira of Somerville, Kiriakoula Femino and her husband Charles of Melrose and Sotirios Kargatzis of Somerville. Grandfather of Joseph, Nicholas, Stravros Moreira and Charles and Christopher Femino.

 

Kostas was born on December 25,1935 and passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015.

 

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway Powder House Sq Somerville Saturday morning November 28th at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass in the Dormition of Virgin Mary Church Somerville at 11am. Relatives and friends invited. Calling hours Friday November 27th 4-8pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery Everett.

 

Kostas was a very nice man and he will be sadly missed here in Somerville and we here in Somerville especially thank him for his many years of service as a Somerville businessman and for serving his community over the past years with delicious seafood and kindness.

LeBLANC-ORTIZ, Barbara (George) 80, Of Somerville, on November 20, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Peter Ortiz. Daughter of the late Alec and Anna (Hughes) George. 
Loving mother of Charles “Chuck” Roche and his wife Ginny of Medford, Alicia Rivera of Somerville, and the late Bobby LeBlanc. Loving sister and best friend of Fran Colon and her husband John of Stoneham, and the late Virginia “Ginny” Oikle. 

Devoted grandmother of Charles, Ariana, and Kaleigh Roche of Medford, Crystal Lewis of Attleboro, and Alex Rivera of Somerville. Loving Aunt of Jackie Colon, his wife Melodie and John Colon, all of Nashua, NH, Donna Maker of Amesbury, Billy Oikle of Falmouth, Nicole Ward of Manchester, NH, her Godson, Tommy Colon, his wife Beverly and T.J. Colon, all of Haverhill. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.), SOMERVILLE, Wednesday morning 9:30- 11:00 am immediately followed by a Funeral Home Service. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett

 

Barbara was a very nice lady and she will be sadly missed here in Somerville especially at the Winter Hill Yacht Club where she is family to many of the boaters who were all very fond of her.

Somerville Remembering PATRICK M. MESITI

 

   

 

 PATRICK M. MESITI 1941 – 2015 Obituary Condolences Mesiti, Patrick M. 74, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital. 

He was the beloved husband of Marguerite B. “Marge” (Dupont) Mesiti with whom he shared 16 years of marriage. He was born in Boston on August 8, 1941 and was a son of the late Vincent and Dalmazia (Giallanella) Mesiti. Following high school, Pat went on to earn several Master’s Degrees. 

He was a much loved 8th grade Science teacher at the McCarthy Middle School in Chelmsford for 38 years. He began his career there in 1968 and retired in 2002. Pat was a driving force behind the very successful Project 300 which is in its’ 40th year of providing food to families in the Merrimack Valley. 

For many years he was a coordinator and chaperone for the 8th grade Washington D.C. trip, even giving up his own vacation week to assure that the trip was held each year. He was also known for being an avid yard sale enthusiast. Pat’s main priority was always his family, first and foremost. 

Patsy was a very nice man and he will be sadly missed here in Somerville especially here at The Somerville News Weekly and Boston News Group where he is family to the entire staff. RIP Cousin Patsy!
