Early Monday morning, an eighteen wheel fuel tanker collided with another truck that was towing it as they were traveling towards Union Square from Sullivan Square in Somerville that halted morning drive traffic to a standstill for hours after it got lodged beneath the railroad bridge that’s located on Washington Street at Tufts Strret just before McGrath Highway.

Somerville Police and Fire department emergency responders along with hazmat teams were called to the scene to deal with the situation at hand.

Hundreds of early morning rush hour drive commuters were lined up for miles waiting as emergency responders rerouted traffic and tried to clear the accident scene causing delays for hours.
