If there was a bomb threat wouldn’t they want to evacuate? Why lock them in the classrooms?

Somerville Kennedy School was placed in a “Secure and Hold” due to a bomb threat made last week.

A message from SOMERVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
This is an important message for the Kennedy School community. A short time ago, the Kennedy School was placed in a Secure and Hold due to a bomb threat made through an email. Out of an abundance of caution, we placed the school in a Secure and Hold, and we called 911 for police support. During Secure and Holds, students and staff are called into classrooms while investigations take place. Teaching and learning continues inside classrooms, however no foot traffic is allowed in the hallways or common spaces. We will provide updates as we have them. We ask parents and guardians not to come to the school while investigations continue.
