CAROL’S OBITUARY
Carol Ann Castignoli, a life long Somerville resident, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of family on September 3, 2021, she was 62. Born and raised in Somerville she was the cherished daughter of Carol F. (Mercer) Castignoli of Somerville and the late John G. Castignoli. A graduate of Somerville High School, Carol went on to work for the US Postal Service, beginning as a letter carrier and then became a supervisor of the Union Square Post Office. She was also a certified tax preparer and worked for H&R Block in their Davis Square Office.

In addition to her mother, Carol is survived by her sisters, Jean Barney of Leominster and Rose Laidley and her husband Edward of Somerville. She was the devoted aunt of Jacob, Christopher and Russell Barney, Jeffrey Amico and his wife Tiffany, and Ronald J. Laidley. She is further survived by several aunt and uncles, many loving cousins and friends.

Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Friday morning, September 10 th at 10:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Calling Hours Friday morning from 8:30AM -10:30AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
