This past Saturday morning the City of Somerville gathered together in remembrance of that tragic September 11th morning of 2001 when America was attacked and over three thousand people lost their lives.
Memories still fresh in minds of many thinking back where they were that morning acknowledging when each of the World Trade Center towers was struck and fell and the times corresponding to the attack on the Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93.
As the world marked the passage of two decades since the day that changed our lives forever here in Somerville our ceremony began at 9:00 AM at the Somerville Bike Path that’s located on Cedar Street. Dozens of Firefighters, Police officers, elected officials and residents assembled for a moment of silence followed by a procession down the bike path to Davis Square where a 9/11 remembrance ceremony took place.
