Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line:Powderhouse Rotary Now a Disaster

Dear Billy T and Somerville/Medford News Weekly Speakup Line,

I tried to cross the road at the Powderhouse Rotary today and found the signals were bagged and taped up and signs said the crosswalk was closed.

I’ve been using these crosswalks for nearly 59 years, now because they want to redo the rotary they’ve shut everything down well before they even start work there. Even if I took a left on a crosswalk that wasn’t closed, I couldn’t activate the stop signal because it was covered and, presumably, turned off. This is a major safety issue.
