Elaine M. (Ropple) Sullivan, of Somerville, beloved wife of 64 years to Paul M. Sullivan, Sr., passed away on Monday, May 17th, 2021.
Elaine grew up in Charlestown and was a proud “Townie.”

For many years, she worked at the Somerville Hospital, a job she loved and made many friends there. Elaine was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods. She also enjoyed simple pleasures like watching television shows and being on her iPad. Elaine’s greatest love was being with her family, she will truly be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and friends.
She is the devoted mother of Stephen J. Sullivan and his partner David Gagne, Kathleen (Sullivan) Dudley and the late Paul M. Sullivan, Jr. and his wife Linda Sullivan. Cherished Nana of Samantha Dudley and her fiancé Ryan Olson, and Matthew, Michael and Katherine Sullivan. Beloved daughter of the late William and Mary (Daly) Ropple. Loving sister of Jack Ropple and his wife Rina, the late Joseph Ropple and his late wife Margaret and the late Ted Ropple and his late wife Eleanor. She is also the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway, Powder House Square, Somerville, on Thursday, May 20th, 2021 from 4 to 8pm. There will be no formal funeral service and interment will be held privately.
