Ms. Anna Moran, of Somerville, passed away at the age of 82 on April 29, 2019. Born and raised in Ward 2, she was one of three children born to the late Sarah “Sadie” (Murphy) Moran and George J Moran, who long served as an Alderman in Somerville. She was the cherished sister of the late George J Moran Jr and is survived by her brother Daniel Moran.

Anna worked for many years at Central Hospital and was a warm and funny presence in her neighborhood who always had a story to tell. An iconic presence on Washington Street, she was welcoming to new neighbors and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville, Wednesday morning June 5, at 10:30, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church (Union Sq.) Somerville, at 11:00. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
