The Elections Laws Committee held a hearing on a bill allowing a candidate for public office to use campaign funds for child care while the candidate is campaigning on his or her own behalf or attending events directly related to his or her campaign. AG CAN FILE CIVIL SUIT FOR WAGE VIOLATIONS

The Labor and Workforce Development Committee heard testimony at a hearing on a bill that would allow the attorney general to file a civil suit for injunctive relief, damages or lost wages and benefits for an employee and for the employee to receive triple damages if the suit is successful.
