The Army-Navy Football Luncheon, produced annually by The Ahern Family Charitable Foundation, is returning to Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill in Woburn, MA on December 8th for its 15th year. Local Somerville resident Jeanne Ahern has been a part of the fundraising since the beginning.
Each year, the Army-Navy Football Luncheon raises funds that support Massachusetts children of fallen and deployed troops during the holiday season through the Operation Santa-Massachusetts program. Hundreds of people attend the event to watch this traditional American Football rivalry take place while enjoying a buffet lunch, raffles, silent and live auction, and supporting our troops.
Local celebrity guests set to attend this year’s luncheon so far are President of the Medal of Honor Society Navy Lieutenant Thomas Kelly, WERS morning host George Knight, Magic 106.7 Morning Host David O’Leary, comedian Dave Russo, Alt 929 personality Amy Brooks, WBZ Radio news announcers Tina Gao and Matt Phipps, and more.
God bless these wonderful people. I have been to the Army-Navy Game twice and I can tell you that is the best event ever. If you go get there to see the Cadets and Midshipmen enter the Stadium in formation. It is better than the game. Get there early and be in your seat.
You will meet the finest young men and women from the academies there and you will leave feeling so inspired, so blessed, so grateful, and so proud! Our military is the finest.
