On Monday, October 15, 2018, I received a call from Assembly Row Security regarding an unwanted male in the elevator vestibule of XXXX Apartments, located at 4xx Canal Street, Somerville. Officer Bork responded as back-up.
Upon arrival, I observed a man standing outside the elevators. He exited the building and stood outside directly across from the train station. I noticed that he was smoking marijuana in public; I approached him and asked him if he was smoking marijuana, and replied “Oh shit, I’m sorry.” and dropped the blunt on the ground. I asked the man for identification and he handed me his EBT card with his name and photograph on it. I identified the man as Anthony Hooker, and located an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Roxbury district court.
I placed Hooker under arrest, conducted a pat frisk and removed a knife from his left pant pocket. I asked him if he had anything sharp on him and he replied “I got a crack pipe in my pocket.” I then asked Hooker if he has any other sharp objects on him, and informed him that I will conduct an inventory of all his belongings at the booking window and he replied “I have drugs in my wallet.”
I opened the wallet and found a small baggie containing a white powdery substance that appeared to be crystal meth.
Hooker was transported to the Somerville Police Headquarters via unit 200, operated by Officer S. Costa, and booked by Lieutenant deOliveira for possession of a class B, and the warrant.
I issued a city ordinance citation to Hooker for smoking marijuana in public and placed it in his property.
The class B substance was placed into evidence; the crack pipe and the marijuana blunt were placed for destruction.
Respectfully submitted,
Officer Samir Messaoudi #312
