Obituary

Edna M. (Dillon) Murphy – – 91, past away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Concord, MA.

She was born on January 24,1933, in Somerville to John Dillon and Catherine (Walsh) Dillon. She
was a proud, lifelong resident of Somerville and a graduate of Somerville
High School. She then attended the Chandler Secretarial School in Boston
and worked for many years as a medical secretary at the Somerville
Hospital. Edna was the beloved wife of 35 years to the late John J. Murphy.
She was the loving mother of Maureen Murphy Baker and her husband
Daniel of Concord, David J. Murphy and his wife Sheila of Melrose, and
Richard S. Murphy of Melrose. She was the stepmother to Mary D.
McPherson of Yarmouth and Robert F. Murphy and his wife Susie of
Braintree. She was the loving sister of Robert Dillon of Woburn and the late
Corinne Cremins, John Dillon and Jeanne Dillon. She leaves behind her
loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
.
The wake will be held at St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville
on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10
a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Relatives and
friends are invited.
