Obituary
Albano, Robert J. – Of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, May 28th surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was 75 years old.
Born in Cambridge to the late Vincent and Mary (Mello) Albano. Bob was a driven, hardworking man who would do anything to provide for his family. His dedication and hard work allowed him to have a successful career as a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25 in Charlestown. Bob especially enjoyed working transportation for the movie industry and would share many stories about the actors and the films he worked on, including such films as Mystic River, Shallow Hal, Good Will Hunting, The Departed, The Town, Me, Myself, and Irene and many more. When he was not working, you could find him in the kitchen cooking a delicious meal for his family. His family loved whenever he would cook something from his Italian or Portuguese heritage. Once he retired, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. If he wasn’t home cooking, fishing, or hunting, you would find him walking around the neighborhood saying hello to all the neighbors. Bob’s love and compassion will be missed by all who he knew.
Beloved husband of 54 years to Laura (Picard) Albano of Medford. Devoted father of Jennifer Olivieri and her husband David of Wakefield, and Danielle Albano of Medford. Cherished and loving grandfather of Colin and Benjamin Olivieri. Dear brother of the late Raymond, Teresa, Marie, Nancy, Richard “Dickie” and John “Jackie”. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House SQ.) Somerville, on FRIDAY, May 31st from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:30PM.
Interment will be private.
