This past Friday night, lantern parades took place for the fourth year in Davis Square teaming up with The Puppet Free Library, Parts & Crafts, and Spontaneous Celebrations to host light and lantern-making workshops with kids, parents, neighbors, and friends were all invited to make homemade, DIY lanterns in preparation for the evening Lantern Parades around Davis Square.
The nighttime sounds of “HONK!”all mixed with homemade lanterns, blinking bike lights, and the warm welcome of neighbors watching from their front porches around Hodgkins Park.
The lantern workshop event took place from 4:00 – 6:00pm making lanterns, then gathered at 6:30pm before the parades departed from the park at 7:00pm then onto @HONK! at Once” from 8:30pm – 12:45am at Once”
Crowds came to hear some HONK! bands perform at Once (the corner of Central St and Highland Ave in Somerville) after the lantern parades.
