Somerville Overcoming Addiction Holds Its 3rd Annual Vigil

This past Thursday evening, Somerville Overcoming Addiction held its 3rd Annual Vigil at the steps of the Fieldhouse that’s located on Highland Avenue next-door to the Somerville High School. 
Over one hundred people attended the event including students, politicians, police and firefighters
SOA – Somerville Overcoming Addiction was founded after Governor Deval Patrick announced that we, the citizens of the Commonwealth had a State of Emergency, an Epidemic with drugs addiction, March of 2014. 

After a community meeting was called ,the people of the new SOA group started meeting regularly and wanted action to help save lives if not only their children and family , others as well with education and awareness. 

Their group is made up of mothers, fathers, grand parents, persons in recovery, brothers and sisters. 

SOA’s Mission is:

To connect the community with addiction support and recovery services, remove stigma of addiction, and eliminate overdose fatalities in Somerville.
