Returning To Somerville Parking Ordinance

Returning to reality after vacation is hard enough, don’t let it be worse by getting a ticket or towed. Somerville has an ordinance that prohibits parking in the same street spot for more than 48 hours in a row. If you leave your car for a week, you do run the risk of getting ticketed.
Along with being vacation season, summer is also peak road work and moving season. As long as no parking signs are properly posted 48 hours in advance, vehicles can be towed to accommodate construction or moving vehicles. Because of that, it’s especially important to find alternate parking or someone who can regularly move your vehicle if you plan to be out of town for more than two days.
