Real Life Somerville Police Stories:Bonnie DWYER (Disorderly Conduct)

On Thursday, June 9, 2016, I, Officer Paul Beckford, was on duty for the Somerville Police (Station Man). At approximately 12:11 AM, I heard someone yelling in the front lobby of the police station. The disturbance was coming from Ms. Bonnie Dwyer. Ms. Dwyer is well known to the department. One of our civilian employees, XXXXX informed Ms. Dwyer that she was not allowed to sleep on our public benches. Ms. Dwyer has been told not sleep on the public benches in the past, due to prior disruptions. The benches are located in the main lobby of the station.

Ms. Dwyer was very upset that she couldn’t spend the night on the benches. She was taking out her frustrations on XXXXX. She was verbally attacking her with inappropriate language. Inappropriate language such as “You stupid c***,” “You b****.” “I know how that b**** got this job.” Ms. Dwyer ignored all of our effort to come down and act appropriately. Ms Dwyer was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct. She was escorted to the booking window where she was booked by Lieutenant Ward.

Respectfully submitted
