Somerville Officer Goes Above and Beyond for Resident

A FOX25 viewer wrote in to the station Tuesday to recognize a Somerville officer that went above and beyond for her daughter.
The viewer, Priscilla, said her mother and daughter had been shopping at a local drug store when it happened. Her daughter, Jessica, had wanted a toy, but Priscilla’s mother didn’t have enough money to purchase it.

City of Somerville Eligible for $20,004 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant


The City of Somerville is eligible for a direct award of $20,004 through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) FY2015 Local Solicitation from the Office of Justice Programs of the U.S. Department of Justice. York Endowed Scholarship Fund, which since 2006 has awarded more than $1 million in four-year, full-tuition scholarships to students in the top fifth of their Somerville High School classes.
