Somerville Neighborhood News is a production of Somerville Community Access Television, made by professional journalists, volunteers and staff. The half-hour news show has as its mission to provide a lively, informative newscast focusing on the events, issues and information impacting Somerville residents. While it’s great to see so many citizens trying to put their best foot forward, it’s deeply disturbing that there seems to be zero accountability for the people responsible for the current situation.
If there is no accountability, we’re essentially left wide open to repeating the same mistakes, and I don’t look forward to the meetings in 2021 about how why we don’t yet have a Green Line station in Union Square.
While it’s great to see so many passionate citizens striving to put their best foot forward, it’s deeply unsettling that there seems to be zero accountability for the causes that led the GLX project to go south.
If there’s no accountability for the current situation, we’re essentially left wide open to end up with the same exact situation in 5 years, arguing about why there is no Green Line station in Union Square.
If I were a developer investing millions of dollars building condos that depend on the GLX, I’d want whoever made the decisions that led us here to own up to it and remove themselves from working on the GLX in the future.
