This past Wednesday once again, the seniors from Cobble Hill enjoyed their annual Christmas party. Friends old and new celebrated together over a great meal at the Holiday Inn next door to the elder apartment community. Friends old and new took time over dinner to celebrate another year of happy times . Not much time went by after dinner before DJ Alan La Bella made his announcement “it’s time to get on the dance floor and do some moving .” With that being said, Ward One Alderman Matt McLaughlin was the first to get up to be one of the singers for the traditional 12 day of Christmas sing along. Right after that , both Alderman at large Bill White and Dennis “Santa” Sullivan came in with lucky scratch tickets in hand to greet everyone and spread more holiday cheer. The crowd got a little break from the dance floor when property manager Evelyn Ortiz called each resident to come up and pick out a wrapped surprise gift package. Some residents remarked that the best gift they got this year was that Evelyn who had worked in Cobble Hill for many years as an administrative assistant was recently promoted by the Corcoran Jennison company to manage Cobble Hill Apartments. The annual Christmas party is one of many great activities the seniors enjoy in the community, along with weekly coffee hours, occasional bus trips, and other sit down dinners for Thanksgiving, Easter, Mothers and Fathers Day and more. DJ Alan LaBella closed out the night wishing everybody a happy new year and saying that he can’t wait to be back for the annual 4th of July BBQ after a winter that we hope will not be like the last one
