Real Life Somerville Police Stories:Shoplifting at Star Market

On Monday, November 30, 2015 I received a call for a shoplifter at Star Market on 14 McGrath Highway. Upon arrival, I spoke XXXXX in loss prevention, who stated Ms. Ketra Tatum made two separate trips into Star market and stole cans of baby formula. On the first trip Ms. Tatum walked out the market before XXXXX was able to stop her with four cans of baby formula. Ms. Tatum later returned to Star market and stole six more cans of baby formula, at this time XXXXX was able to stop Ms. Tatum before she could walk out the Market. Ms. Tatum used a reusable tote bag at the self check to conceal the cans of baby formula. Ms. Tatum admitted to XXXXX and me that she took the six cans of formula and the previous four cans of formula from her first trip.

Ms. Tatum was advised that she was being arrested for Shoplifting over $100. Unit 200 was called for Transportation.

Respectfully submitted
