This past Saturday the all-day celebration, in partnership with The City of Somerville and the Department of Conservation and Recreation, included live music from local bands, 20 local artisans, free children’s activities, roaming entertainment, a sidewalk sale, and a fireworks show over the Mystic River. Riverfest ran from noon – 8 p.m. at Baxter Riverfront Park and throughout the Assembly neighborhood.

“Celebrations like Riverfest unify our city and bring visitors from all over the region to support our local businesses and enjoy what makes Somerville so special,” said Mayor Joe Curtatone. “We’re thankful for Assembly Row’s partnership in bringing this celebration to life each year. This celebration of our newest neighborhood and our waterfront continues to get bigger and better.”
Retailers throughout the neighborhood featured fall fashion items during the sidewalk sale and will offer special promotions for Riverfest. Local nonprofits also set up community tables to provide information about their organizations.
“Riverfest is one of Federal Realty’s favorite events at Assembly Row. It truly represents the mission of our new Somerville neighborhood by bringing together families, artists and musicians,” said Matt Ehrie, vice president and general manager of Assembly Row. “It is incredible to see the people of Somerville bring Baxter Park and the neighborhood to life during Riverfest.”
