Somerville Remembering Anthony Napolitano

Anthony Napolitano, A lifelong Somerville resident and retired postal worker, 83, died unexpectedly on August 17, 2015. Mr. Napolitano is survived by many family and friends. Anthony loved spending time with his caregivers. To name then: MaryLou, Darlene, Donna, Celia, Wendy, Melissa, Nicholas and Anthony. Nobody was more special to Anthony than his best friend, his one and only constant in his life, Mary Lou Linehan who became everything to him. Mary Lou provided Anthony with many years of happiness and love and kept him healthy and happy. He served three years with distinction as a Marine in Vietnam. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him. Anthony was of a witty, kind and loyal man – a description that anyone who ever knew him would, I’m sure, instantly recognize. His friends always knew not to call him “Tony”. He would always come back with a very firm “my name is not Tony” and then a belly laugh. He loved dancing, he loved watching old movies, he loved scenic trips, he especially loved his food…was always the happiest when he was eating. Anthony our dearest friend Anthony, soon you will be laid to rest, but you know what they say, God only takes the best.

Anthony’s services will be on Monday from 10 to 12 at Dohertys with a ceremony or service at noon time and then he will be buried over in Woodlawn with his parents after the services.
