The Somerville News Weekly’s Special Person of the Week Daniel Spinosa

  

Daniel Spinosa, a lifelong Somerville resident who was born on Saint Patrick’s Day in 1922 on Tufts Street in Somerville. 

A disabled American Veteran who proudly served his country well during WWII in the South Pacific then returned to Somerville and married the love of his life, Mary Caruso in 1946. 

The proud couple shortly after raised five beautiful children, Rosemarie, Daniel Jr., Richard, Linda and Karen.  

Daniel owned and operated two family businesses in Somerville for over fifty years, Reliable Broom and Brush Company from 1930 (which his father Salvatore started) until 1985 and then later opened Superior Chemical Corp in Somerville from 1955 till 2000.
Daniel is also a member of the Somerville Kiwanis as well as being past Vice President of the club. 
He was a member of the Somerville Chamber of Commerce and he is a life member Somerville post19 as well as a member of the Medford VFW.

With such a fantastic biography there is no question why he was chosen as The Somerville News Weekly’s Special Person of the Week.
