Detective Kilsarys Leguisamon has been a member of the Somerville Police Department for the last eight years and is currently assigned to the Family Services Unit. During a recent investigation, Detective Leguisamon was relentless in her endeavor to seek the truth in an incident involving the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile female perpetrated by her mother’s live-in boyfriend.

Detective Leguisamon attended the forensic interview of the victim who disclosed a series of sexual encounters with her mother’s boyfriend that occurred while the victim’s mother was not home. During an interview with the suspect, he denied any sexual contact and agreed to submit to a polygraph exam. The suspect subsequently failed the polygraph exam and Detective Leguisamon was able to secure a confession post exam. The suspect is now sure to be indicted and this would not have occurred if Detective Leguisamon had not gone the extra mile in utilizing the polygraph exam.

The department recognizes the quality of the work that was done by Detective Leguisamon during this investigation. If not for Detective Leguisamon’s perseverance, this case may have closed with no charges being filed. Her dedication to her work and her willingness to go the extra mile are above and beyond the call of duty.
