The Somerville Urban Design Commission (UDC) and Planning Board are seeking new members, and all Somerville residents are invited to apply.

The Urban Design Commission is looking for one alternate member. The Urban Design Commission provides advice and recommendations on the design of development projects that affect the quality of Somerville’s public realm. Alternate members participate in all discussions on items before the Commission and vote in place of full-time members when they cannot attend. Learn more about the Urban Design Commission and apply by October 31.

The Planning Board is looking for one new member. This board reviews long-term and large-scale planning throughout the city. It approves and implements the SomerVision Comprehensive Plan, grants special permits for development projects in key transformational areas, and provides recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Somerville Zoning Ordinance.
