(Somerville Mayoral Candidate William Tauro Asking Mayor Curtatone and Somerville City Councilors to not reappoint Inspectional Services Director Mr. Nicholas Antanavica but instead to have him removed from his Position Immediately and have him charged criminally.)
So much for racial justice here in Somerville. All these recent remarks by Somerville Mayor Joe Curtatone and Somerville city Councilors as well as for all of their attendance at any vigils including all stop the hate of Asians rallies within the city were are all falsely stated because these elected officials are all hypocrites for allowing the reappointment of Somerville Inspectional Services Director Mr. Antanavica considered.
Snide efforts to diminish citizens of Somerville , and the hurling of racial epithets minority-ethnic workers should not be tolerated anywhere, anytime by anyone and especially not by a Somerville appointed official.
During an inspection of a worksite in Somerville, Somerville Inspectional Services Director Mr. Antanavica murmured a racial slur against a Somerville property owner’s workers who were sanding hardwood floors directly right in front of them. This city official that was sent out to the job site referred to this home owner’s workers by stating about these Chinese workers to the affect of as to the “Chinx are good on their knees!”
This incident was reported to the Manager of Diversity Equity Inclusion with an Equal Opportunity Policy Complaint as a formal complaint by the home owner and his employees.
This Somerville director should be fired and brought up on racial criminal charges as well instead of getting reappointed by the mayor and the Somerville city Council!
So with that said I urge all citizens of Somerville to call the mayors office and call your city counselors to demand this appointment not to happen on this coming Thursday April 27th.
The mayor’s request:(To the Honorable City Council:I hereby appoint, subject to the Honorable City Council’s confirmation, Nicholas Antanavica to the position of Director of Inspectional Services.
Thank you for your consideration of this item.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joseph A. Curtatone, Mayor)
Maybe we should call upon Somerville’s new Director of Racial and Social Justice Denise Molina Capers to look into it. She is getting paid and she should do her job!
And
This story is still developing…
