Re: Noisy Abuse to the Elderly at Night

We live in a large apartment building strictly for the Elderly and the Handicapped.

At intervals, not every night, in the large bedroom right above us, there is a very active, noisy, pre-school child running around at different parts of the night, even in the middle of the night, just above our bedroom from 7pm on, just as we have gone to sleep.

There are also noises from the child’s grandparents also, walking around loudly at night over our bed. Questioned about this by the Management, they deny there is any noise.

We are elderly seniors and are handicapped. We have lived here happily for ten years, with no heavy disruption to our sleep until recently. We have written to our doctor as this is a health issue.

Instead of recognizing our extreme duress, the office manager takes the part of the offenders. We do not get support. Others in the building are treated as we have been treated. It is very unpleasant for many. She also consults a lawyer. She does not promote peace in our building.

This manager also has sent us twice a letter advising us to move. An insult of the highest.

It is important that the office manager listens to our and others’ problems. Or she should search for another position elsewhere where she could again hurt the vulnerable.

Sincerely,

A Tenant/resident
