Somerville Homeless Coalition is proud to announce our featured speaker for our inaugural Spring Into Action Gala, District Attorney Marian Ryan.

D.A. Ryan, who grew up in Somerville, is a recognized expert on developing and creating innovative solutions that are defined by not simply getting involved after a criminal act has occurred but instead taking meaningful steps to stop crime before it happens.

She has been acknowledged for her leadership on developing initiatives aimed at providing rehabilitative, instead of punitive services, to those experiencing homelessness while also keeping children safe and protecting our seniors.

She has been a leader in domestic violence prevention and prosecution for over three decades and has conducted trainings across the county for prosecutors, law enforcement officers and service providers on recognizing the signs of domestic violence.

We also recognize her for programs that she has spearheaded such as the RIGHT project, court diversion programs, low cash bail for low level, non-violent offenders and her dedication to helping Middlesex County combat the opioid crisis.

For the work we do at Somerville Homeless Coalition, D.A. Ryan is an important community partner and we are grateful to have her protecting our most vulnerable populations. She is an engaging speaker and we are trilled she was able to join us.
