On November 20, 2018, Rotary of Somerville teamed up with Kiwanis Club of Somerville and Somerville Lions Club to hold it’s Annual Thanksgiving Tri-Club Charity Luncheon at the Mt. Vernon Restaurant & Pub in celebration of this Thanksgiving as well as to support Somerville shelters and charities during this holiday season. This year the beneficiaries were RESPONDinc., Somerville Homeless Coalitions, The St. Patrick’s Homeless Shelter of Catholic Charities. Nancy Kavanagh, Director of The St. Patrick’s Homeless Shelter of Catholic Charities in Union Square was the guest speaker and her focus was on the serious need of quality nutritious foods for the Hungry locally and internationally. Overall, the event was a success and Rotary of Somerville gratefully thank those participated this year in this great cause and wishes all a Happy Thanksgiving! – Kevin Su, Rotary of Somerville, President 2018-2019.
