SOMERVILLE – The City of Somerville’s Ethics Commission is currently seeking a Somerville resident to fill a mid-term vacancy on the five-member board. Ethics Commissioners serve three-year terms and are not term limited. Commissioners do not receive a stipend. For this vacancy, the applicant’s initial term would end June 30, 2019, and would be subject to re-appointment following required approvals by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Of the five members, two are appointed by the Mayor and subject to approval by the Board of Aldermen, one member is appointed by the Board of Aldermen and subject to approval by the Mayor, one member is appointed by the School Committee, and one member is the Election Commissioner.
The Somerville Ethics Commission is charged with reviewing statements of interest filed with the Commission to determine whether the relevant rules and regulations have been fulfilled.
