Fire at 51 Cherry Street Somerville
The Somerville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 51 Cherry Street on Tuesday July 17th. The large two and a half story wood frame house was hit by lightning at approximately 5:45 PM causing a fire along the base of the roof line and extending into the 3rd floor. Ward 5 Somerville Alderman Mark Neidergang:GLX Traffic Detour Update
If you live anywhere near Ball Square, or drive through it, get ready for a year of traffic nightmares starting Nov. 2018. As part of the Green Line Extension (GLX) project, the Ball Square Broadway Bridge will be completely closed for a year. No pedestrian or bike crossing either. The GLX Team is working with Somerville and Medford City officials on detour routes.
