The Somerville News Weekly Special Person of the Week:Tony Uglietto

Meet this week’s Special Person of the Week:Tony Uglietto

Tony is 95 years old and still comes into the office everyday for a few hours.

Tony told us about him and his brothers buying an old Army tanker truck to start their oil company and delivering range oil to customers houses here in Somerville.

He is still the backbone of the company and is admired and loved by his customers and employees.

Cubby Oil Company is a family business founded in 1945 by Tony and Dom Uglietto. Tony and Dom’s father and mother helped the boys get started by answering the phones and making deliveries where needed. Over the years they built a company focused on exceptional customer service.

The brothers always made themselves available to their customers, personally providing 24 hour emergency service for years.

Their legacy continues today under the supervision of Charles Uglietto, Tony’s son. The company has evolved into a Heating, Cooling and Energy Conservation company focused on delivering comfort to our customers through superior customer service.

Tony Uglietto is one of our hometown Somerville pioneers who took a chance opening up a business here in Somerville and created a successful legacy.

Our hats are off to his true Somerville spirit!

We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.

Congratulations!
