Meet this week’s Special Person of the Week Jesse Clingan

This week we recognize an amazing person, Jesse Clingan, a lifelong Somerville resident who’s heart and soul is dedicated in his voluntary assisting and support of his fellow Somervillians.

Jesse was elected to the Somerville Board of Aldermen in 2017 as Alderman representing Ward 4. Jesse keeps himself very busy on the following committees:

Housing and Community, Development (Vice Chairman),Open Space, Environment, and Energy

Public Health and Public Safety (Chairman)

Veterans and Public Services

Youth Services (Vice Chairman)

Bicycle Advisory Committee

Jesse also does what it takes to raise awareness to help keep our Somerville youths away from the evil habits of addiction and the tragedy of overdosing.

His efforts should be spotlighted and recognized for his continuous work as an example of turning people’s lives who are heartbreakingly addicted to drugs into a positive meaningful gains for them as well as for the entire community.

He is just one example of the level of love and commitment that this individual puts into getting the word out there by raising awareness that drugs are not good for you and we can help!

Jesse works hand in hand with the community on a daily basis as one of the organizers of “Somerville Overcoming Addiction” and his efforts have made a difference for the better in many peoples lives here in Somerville that were once in a terrible situation. With Jesse’s help, he has guided and turned many lives around in the city and put them on the correct path to recovery!

He is an unsung hero and an angel sent from Heaven!
