This past Thursday night, a couple of City Boards took steps forward in the redevelopment of the seven “D blocs” in the heart of Union Square.
The Board of Aldermen approved bonding for $63 million for sewer and streetscape improvements on Somerville Ave and two bonds for $3.6 million to pay for design of two other major sewer projects.
Many Villens celebrating their birthdays this week in the Ville! Acting Senate President Harriette Chandler (D-Worcester) has canceled the annual holiday party for senators and their staffs. Chandler’s office told Beacon Hill Roll Call, “There will be no Senate holiday party this year. After speaking with her leadership team, the Acting Senate president made the determination that a holiday party would not be appropriate.”
