Somerville-This past Thursday afternoon Somerville Kiwanis Club President Paul Upton and Kiwanis Club members, joined by the Somerville Lions Club President Billy Tauro with Lions Club members and the Somerville Rotary Club President Ann Kirby with her club’s members held their Annual Holiday Tri-Meeting Toys for Tots Luncheon.

Forty members from the three local community service clubs gathered together, bringing toys that members had collected or donated for the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

The Somerville High School Chorus joined the event to provide holiday music, which is one of the club’s highlights of the year.

Last year, this program provided toys to 88,000 deserving children in our region according to Marine Corps Corporal Sosa, and they hope to help even more children this year.

After the buffet lunch, members helped to load the Marine Corps van with so many toys that they had to return for a second trip.

Somerville Kiwanis Annual Toys for Tots campaign would not be successful without the generosity and support or the members of the Kiwanis, Rotary and Lions Clubs and their customers and friends, said Kiwanis President Paul Upton.
