Somerville Remembering Daysi I. Moreno

November 7, 1973 – December 5, 2017

Our condolences go out to the Moreno and Bonilla families on the recent passing of Daysi I. Moreno. Daysi was a very nice person with many friends who will sadly miss her here in Somerville. 

 

Obituary:

Daysi I. Moreno of Malden, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family December 5, 2017 after a courageous two-year battle with metastatic triple negative breast cancer.

She is survived by her mother Daysi Bonilla of Weymouth, MA; her daughter Savahna Moreno-Areniello of Malden, MA; brothers John Moreno and his wife Michelle of Somersworth, NH and Simon Moreno of Malden, MA; she was the fun Aunt who spoiled her nieces and nephew, Giovahni, Gabriella and Ariahna Moreno; and not to be forgotten, her dog Romeo. In addition, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Daysi received amazing treatment during her journey at Mass General Hospital. She was a very special patient to those who cared for her. Her dedication to making a difference is reflected in her desire to be part of clinical research during her care and post.

She was a dedicated Mother and brought joy and happiness to the many lives she touched. Formerly of Somerville and a graduate of Somerville High School she was an amazing and devoted friend. Daysi enjoyed spending time with her wide circle of family and friends and was open to any great adventure. In her free time she loved Zumba, dance, giving back to the community and watching reality TV. Even during the darkest of times she could always find a reason to smile and was constant inspiration to those who knew her.

A celebration of Daysi’s life and visitation for family and friends will be held at the Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 4-8 PM.

Funeral procession from Weir-Mac Cuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 9AM with Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Malden at 10AM. Interment immediately to follow at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
