The City of Somerville is eligible to receive a direct award of $17,216 from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant issued by the Office of Justice Programs of the U. S. Department of Justice. Funding from this grant can only be used for improving aspects of our local criminal justice system. It is the intention of the Police Department to use the Justice Assistance Grant to improve the training and safety of our officers in the line of duty.
