This past Saturday dozens of volunteers Joined the City of Somerville, Groundwork Somerville, and Comcast Cares for the annual Spring Cleanup and Community Barbecue.
All participants were invited to meet at the Blessing of the Bay Boat House on Shore Drive, at 9 a.m. for breakfast and coffee before they set out to their wards.
Residents were invited to join Ward Captains and City officials in each of the City’s seven wards and helped prepare the city for the spring and summer by planting flowers, weeding open spaces, and otherwise cleaning our community following the long winter months.
T-shirts and hats were provided to all participants from at all cleanup locations.
All participants were invited to a community barbecue immediately following the cleanup from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Blessing of the Bay Boathouse on Shore Drive.
