The Somerville News Weekly Special Person of the Week:Lee Anderson

Meet this week’s “Special Person of the Week:Lee Anderson

By Frank Santangelo

Lee was born and raised in Somerville , to Sandra Grassia and William Johnson and Grandson to Eleanor and Nick Grassia of the former Grassia Bros Fuel.

He attended St Anthony’s School, Pope John High School and later Suffolk University
Lee grew up playing hockey for Somerville Youth Hockey, Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball and gave back to the community coaching Youth hockey for Somerville and the Boston Stars.
Lee’s younger brother Billy, who passed away at the young age of twenty years old from bone cancer twenty years ago was the inspiration for @Billy’s Kid’s Learn to Skate Program”, which is still going strong to this very day.
Lee is employed by the City of Somerville as a Traffic officer and enjoys his position which however can be a thankless position at times but meeting, helping and being an ambassador of our Great City from all walks of life more than makes up for it to Lee. More importantly to Lee it helps keeping our city safe.
On one last note, you probably have seen Lee walking his thirteen year old dog Ace down the streets of Somerville just about every day as Ace’s faithful companionship as man’s best friend relieves Lee’s stress after a long day of work.

Our hats are off to his true Somerville spirit!

We here at the Somerville News Weekly salute you for everything that you do to make Somerville a better place.
