Somerville Remembering Nicholas “Nicky” Rubera

Our condolences go out to the Rubera family on the loss of Nicholas.

Nicky as most of us here in Somerville know him by, was a kind hearted gentleman, dedicated military veteran and a very good friend to many of us here in the Ville.
Nicky will be sadly missed here in Somerville, but may the memory of his kindness live on forever.

A letter of hope from his family during this holiday season:

My dad fought a good fight after a motorcycle accident only to find out he had stage four liver cancer and a hernia that after having two surgeries only to find out the next one he wouldn’t survive or if he did chemo at that point it would only kill him faster. So we tried to make the best of it and enjoy the rest of the time we had with him. Also came out to being hardest with only so little income and being out of work he had to use all his savings to catch up with bills. He was suppose to go to the V.A hospital in Bedford because with him being a veteran he could go there because it was getting harder and harder to take care of him. You could see the suffer in pain he was going threw to try to make it to Christmas. My dad ending up being rushed to Mount Auburn Hospital and my dads pain and suffering ended on December 22,2016 and the memories we made I’ll never forget.

With the holidays coming I know it’s hard on everyone but anything helps cause I would love to give him the service he deserves. I don’t need to say how amazing he was because my cousin has said it all for me.
On that note I want to wish everyone a very safe and healthy holiday. Thank you for any help
