On Friday December 09, 2016 at approximately 1601, I Officer Randy Isaacs along with Officer Ubeda and Sergeant Shackelford were dispatched to 14 McGrath HWY, (Star Market) for a shoplifter in the security office. Upon arrival I met lost prevention who informed me that has a male party that as stolen from the store numerous times and as late as October 28, 2016. Lost prevention also stated that he observed the individual place a item in his back that was later valued at $66.08. Also after approaching the individual and escorting him back to the security office, there were also three bags of shrimp valued at $25.98 per. Lost prevention informed me that in October when he came across this individual, he identified himself as Mr. XXXXX.

        Because the individual only spoke Spanish Officer Ubeda spoke with him. The individual identified himself as Mr. Julio Perez. Mr. Perez stated that he is homeless and that he is from Dorchester and he steals food so he can sell to a friend. Mr. Perez was placed under arrest for Shoplifting by Concealing, MGL c266, S30A. Mobile detention, Unit 200 was dispatched and Mr. Perez was transported to the Somerville Police Department to be booked by Lieutenant Rymill.
