Somerville’s Fourth of July Fireworks will be held on June 30, at Trum Field.
On Thurs., June 30, live entertainment at Trum Field will begin at 6 p.m. and will include performances by the 215th Army Band, local Disco-Funk band Booty Vortex, the USO Metropolitan New York Performers, and the Somerville Sunsetters, leading up to a 30-minute fireworks display at approximately 9:15 p.m.
To ensure public safety and pedestrian access to events, traffic and parking restrictions will be in place as follows:
Somerville FIREWORKS
· Broadway
o No Parking at Trum Field 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. street closed after 6 p.m.
o Ball Square to Magoun Sq.: No Parking 4 p.m. to midnight; street closed 5 p.m. to midnight.
· Cedar St.
o Morrison Ave. to the Bridge: No Parking 8 a.m. to midnight; traffic restricted to residents only 4 to 6 p.m.; street closed after 6 p.m.
o Bridge to Broadway: No Parking 8 a.m. to midnight; traffic restricted to residents only 4 to 6 p.m. (from Morrison Ave. only); street closed 6 p.m. to midnight.
· Franey Rd.: No Parking 4 p.m. to midnight; street closed 4 p.m. to midnight.
· Charles E. Ryan Rd.: No parking 8 a.m. to midnight; access restricted to residents 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; street closed 6 p.m. to midnight.
· MBTA Buses 80 & 89 rerouted 5 p.m. to midnight. See http://www.mbta.com for full detour information.
Due to the large crowds and loud noise associated with the Fireworks Celebration, the City recommends that attendees leave pets at home and not bring unnecessary bags or backpacks.
