Somerville PD & Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Hosts Gun Buyback Event

The Somerville Police Department, in partnership with the Middlesex Sheriff’s office, held a gun buyback event this past Saturday, June 25 at the Department of Public Works to help get unwanted guns out of homes.
Those who brought in unwanted firearms received a gift card worth $100 for each firearm turned in.
No ID was required; no questions were asked.
During this event 33 guns were taken in.
Turning in unwanted firearms helps reduce the risk of suicide, deadly accidents and domestic violence.
