Real Life Somerville Police Stories:Malicious Defacement of Property

On the morning of January 1, 2016, while in uniform, I was assigned to marked unit East-2. At 1:52 AM, I was dispatched, along with East-3, Ofc. Sousa, to XX Concord Ave for a report of a white male wearing a white short sleeve shirt, breaking a window.

Upon arrival, I spoke with the reporting party identified as XXXXX. XXXXX stated that she heard a loud noise coming from her back porch. When XXXXX looked outside she saw a male hitting her window with a chair that is kept on her porch. XXXXX took a video of the suspect, and called the police. I watched the video of the suspect. The suspect is described as a white male with a beard, approximately 6ft. tall, wearing a white short sleeve shirt and jeans. Ofc. Sousa and I searched the area to no avail.

At 2:49 AM, Ofc. Sousa and I were dispatched to YY Concord Ave for a report of a suspicious person trying to kick in the back door to the house. Upon arrival, I spoke to YYYYY, who described the suspect as a white male with a beard, wearing a white short sleeve shirt. I asked YYYYY if there was any damage done to his house, to which he stated yes. YYYYY showed me a window screen that the suspect kicked and damaged.

At 3:11 AM, Ofc. Sousa radioed me to respond to ZZ Webster Ave for a male, matching the description of the previous two calls, kicking a car door. Upon my arrival, I identified the suspect as the same person in the video taken at XX Concord Ave.

Respectfully,

Ofc. A. Lorenti #322
