This past week Somerville firefighters were training at the Reilly-Brickley Fire Station that’s located on Broadway on with the latest technology in life saving equipment available, the Monopod Head and Pulley system.
The Monopod Head and Pulley offers effective support in high angle, elevator shaft, confined space, and trench rescues.
Constructed of lightweight aluminum and stainless steel, the Monopod Head and Pulley are a strong, durable pulley assembly that can be used in many rescue applications.
The Monopod Head and Pulley attaches to the 610 LongShore Strut and have four hoist rings, each with a load capacity of 1000 pounds, to assist in stabilization and extrication tasks. The Monopod Head and Pullley can be used with life safety ropes up to 1/2” wide, and the pulley assembly allows the rope to come down the outside of the tube for ease of hoisting.
Powerful and highly versatile, the Monopod Head and Pulley works well in high angle, elevator shaft, confined space, and trench rescues, among many other applications.
