Jesse WINFREY Arrest

On Sunday, June 28, 2015 I was assigned to marked unit (West-6). At 3:55 A.M., I was dispatched along with Officer Nardone (West-7) to 139 College Avenue for a Burglary. I was informed by Somerville Police control that officers from Tufts University Police were also responding.

Officers Curry, Philbrook and Sgt. Pastman from Tufts PD arrived first on scene and detained a male, later identified as Jesse Winfrey in the front porch of 139 College Ave. Mr. Winfrey opened a window from outside and climbed into the victim’s bedroom. As he entered the room he pushed a computer monitor off the desk.

I spoke with the victim, XXXXX, who informed me that he was awoken by the noise of his computer monitor and other items on his desk falling to the floor. He then saw an unknown man sitting on his desk. XXXXX confronted the man and called the Police. XXXXX identified Mr. Winfrey as the person he saw inside his bedroom.

Mr. Winfrey was placed under arrest without incident for Unarmed Burglary c.266 S15. He was transported to Somerville Police Headquarters via unit 200, operated by Officer Dervishian and booked by Lieutenant Lavey in accordance with department policy. Mr. Winfrey was advised of his Miranda rights, signed a form stating that he understood and had waived these rights. When questioned about this incident, he stated that he does not remember going into anyone’s house.

Respectfully submitted,

Officer Samir Messaoudi
