Results From Greater Boston All-League Meet (Saturday 1/31)
The Somerville High School Boys Indoor Track team came from behind to record a victory (103.5 points) at the Greater Boston All-League meet on Saturday night at the Reggie Lewis
Center in Boston. Also competing in the event were- Greater Lawrence Tech (91), Malden (76.75), Everett (68.75), Medford (36) and Chelsea (27). Winning GBL championships in their events were: Ben Pierre-Dash (6.64), Travis Dolcine- 1000 meters (2:43), Joao Baptista- High Jump (6’3″), CJ Felix- Long Jump (19’3″) & Malcolm Ducasse, Marcus Thomas, Wilbens Vincent & Phillips Magre in the Mile relay (3:47). Placing 2nd, making them eligible for GBL All-Star status were: Odmark Ozit- Long Jump (18’8.5″), Demar Chapman- Hurdles (8.44) & Phillips Magre- 300 meters (37.31). The above mentioned athletes qualified to compete at the MIAA Division 2 State Championship meet to be held on Thursday night, February 12, in Boston.
Placing in the top six scoring positions were: Josh Gauyo- 4th-1000 meters (2:58.34), Wilbens Vincent- 4th-Hurdles (8.79), CJ Felix & Phillips Magre- 4th- High Jump (5’6″), Odmark Ozit- 5th-Hurdles (8.83) & 600 meters (1:32.02), Travis Dolcine- 5th- two mile (11:56.84), Matheus Bragatto- 5th-Shot Put- (40′ .5″), Carlo Gerton- 6th- Shot Put (35′ 9.5″), Malcolm Ducasse- 6th- 300 meters (38.99)
Also scoring were the 4th place 800 meter relay team (1:39.24) of CJ Felix, Marcus Thomas, Ben Pierre & Demar Chapman and the 4th place 2-Mile relay team (10.09) of Josh Gauyo, Henry Sprick, Enea Dodi & Kalin Toussaint.
Also competing were: Matt Abrantes- 7th- 600 meters (1:37.90), Manny Santiago- 7th- Shot Put (35’2″), Matheus Bragatto- Dash-7.30, Jason Barrientos- Dash-7.68, Kalin Toussaint-1000 meters-3:19.88, Hervin Benevides- 2 Mile-13:01.66
